Health and Safety at Work

Within the construction industry, the level of health and safety must also remain high. Failing to maintain a consistently high standard of health and safety will not only put you at risk, but your staff, clients and any passers-by.

Every construction company should have a valid health and safety policy in place. Here at CJ Coatings, we have a number of health and safety staff members that work both in the field and in the office.

Health and safety is taken extremely seriously here at CJ Coatings. Unfortunately, not all of our competitors take the same view. As a company we are both Safecontractor and Constructionline accredited, passing all of the necessary inspections and health and safety questionnaires.

The Importance of Health and Safety

To ensure that the safety of our staff members is maintained all year round, we have created a specific health and safety procedure for emergency scenarios. These have included emergency procedures for evacuations, fires and a range of other emergency evacuation scenarios.

Unfortunately, not every accident can be prevented. However, it can be managed correctly to ensure that the chances of t happening again are significantly reduced.

Any accident that occurs whilst we are on site is reported and recorded by our on site health and safety representative. Once the cause of the incident has been identified, a thorough investigation will be completed to diagnose the cause of the issue. All findings will be recorded in our accident report log and kept of file for the benefit of our health and safety records.

Health and safety is so important to construction workers. It is vital that the employer provides all of the staff members with the correct PPE before each project. Eye-wash stations are situation in chemical handling areas and that the enforcement of protective eye-wear is available at all times.
