It’s a Friday evening and you have just got home from a long day at work. Your friends call you up and ask if you fancy going out for the evening. You say yes and start to get yourself ready, hoping that the future wife may make an appearance at some stage during the evening. Of course, if you want to impress this hidden gem, appearance is everything and that is no doubt just as important for a commercial business. If you want to impress and grab attention, you’re not going to do it by rolling up in your most comfortable tracksuit bottoms.
Businesses need to make any potential buyer feel at ease. I know for a fact that if I approached a store on my local high street and the external building panels were in desperate need of refurbishment, with corroded wooden joints, I would most certainly avoid going in. To me, it doesn’t look like the owner cares, so why would they care about you? Make sure that you make the customer or client feel appreciated and cared for. Use these 3 reasons to respray your building and I promise you that you will get more advances than rejections. The store that is, not your love life.
Vote of Confidence
Just like I mentioned above. Making the right impression will have its benefits in itself.
Passers by will feel more comfortable stepping in off of the street. If potential customers see that you take pride in both your personal and business appearance then they will make purchases.
A good example is John Lewis. They are a massive, international brand and department store that over the last 5-years have become known for their quality service, customer experience and products. On the John Lewis website it states that the company aim was to “bring a new quality of life to everyone”. If you show customers that you care – they will come.
The average warehouse panel replacement costs between £500 and £1500. This is entirely dependent on the type of building, what maintenance was completed and how well any previous repairs have been carried out.
Cladding repairs ensure that any damaged panels are highlighted and removed as soon as possible. Failing to do so will result in a serious incident and could potentially result in a co-workers injury. The cost of maintaining your building can be heavily reduced if you maintain a regular and consistent site report, recording any findings as you go.
When I was eight, I used to play in my dad’s shed and draw a load of random things. Over the years the beloved shed started to wear down and show significant signs of corrosion. As I got older, I took more and more interest in artwork and eventually took it as a GCSE. I would always practice my pieces in that shed, no matter what time of day. However, as the shed continued to deteriorate, so did my designs. I had no idea what was happening, I thought that I had dramatically lost my ability to draw creative images.
My dad decided that he was going to replace the shed and built one himself. I even got an area to continue my drawing and low and behold, with the new, clean environment, my art skills improved.
Although not specifically related to commercial buildings – the moral of the story is all the same. If you are working in a dull and dark environment, your employees will naturally lose interest and their work ethic will drop. If you have a faulty building panel or roof light – replace it. The additional sunlight and the new, cleaner working environment will help boost your staff morale.
